Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Kathy

Butterfly Medley Thank You

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little inspiration from Heartfelt Creations!  This week I have a cream on cream card for you with a little bit of aqua!

The flower and butterflies are from the new Butterfly Medley Collection. The were stamped with VersaMark Ink on cream card stock and heat embossed with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel. I lightly colored them with chalk inks using makeup applicators to give them a soft look. Here's a closeup of the flower and small butterfly.

The sentiment is from the Summer Glory Set that is heat embossed with Brown Sugar Embossing Powder and trimmed into a "flag" shape. You can find complete instructions for this at the bottom of my post.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers. Emma Lou has a new video tutorial showing you a couple of fun techniques with the Butterfly Medley Collection. There is also a sneak peek of the Peacock Paisley Collection being released in March.

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday Challlenge #172 - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

Blessings!

Kathy

Paper: Natural White (Neenah), Iced Cocoa (Coredinations)
Ink: VersaMark, Turquoise Gem, Aloe Vera, Spanish Moss, Sahara Sand Chalk Inks (VersaMagic) Accessories: Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel (Stampendous), Brown Sugar Embossing Powder (Zing), heat tool, Bow-Easy Tool, fibers (my stash), square punch, Bisque Liquid Pearls (Ranger), make-up applicators, Rosa Embossing Folder and Border Folder (Cuttlebug), pop dots, glue dots, scor-tape 1/8", adhesive pearls, lace (Hobby Lobby), water mini mister, Fast Grab Tacky Glue (Aleene's).

Instructions: Make 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base with Natural White. Cut mat 4 1/16" x 5 5/16" and emboss with folder. Wrap fiber around mat as pictured and secure on back. Add to base with pop dots. Cut piece of Natural White 1 3/16" x 5 5/16" and emboss with border folder. Cut Iced Cocoa 1 3/8" x 5 5/16" and glue pieces together. Cut two pieces of laces and adhere to each side of border piece with scor-tape. Add this to card as pictured using pop dots.

On Natural White with VersaMark Ink, stamp Flowers, leaves and butterflies and heat emboss from underneath with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel. Selecting pieces pictured, use make-up applicators to lightly apply color. For leaves and butterfly bodies, I used Aloe Vera, then Spanish Moss. For flowers and butterfly wings, I used Turquoise Gem then lightly with Sahara Sand to tone down to color. Spray back of flowers and leaves with water, then shape with mat and tool kit. Spray back of butterflies with water, shape wings by rolling them over a pencil then press pencil down center body over mat. Let all pieces dry, then assemble flower as shown using Art Institute Glue (AIG).

Make multi-loop fiber bow with Bow-Easy Tool and add as shown with glue dots. On Natural White with VersaMark Ink, stamp sentiment and heat emboss with Brown Sugar Embossing Powder. Trim sentiment and use square punch on right end to create flag. Glue in place as pictured gluing each end with Double Dot in the middle. Add leaves and flower over bow using Fast Grab Tacky Glue. Glue butterflies (body only) to card as shown. Add Anti Establish Mint Prills to flower center using AIG. Add adhesive pearls and dots of Bisque Liquid Pearls as desired.
